Large infrastructure projects, particularly hydro power dams built through public-private partnerships, depend on land being acquired lawfully and without lasting disputes.
Why Resettlement Planning Matters
When a project requires land currently occupied or used by communities, a properly designed Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) sets out how those communities will be compensated, relocated, and supported, in a way that meets both legal requirements and the practical realities on the ground.
Our Role in the Process
Twikirize & Co. Advocates has developed a specialist practice in RAP design and implementation for public-private-partnership investment projects, particularly hydro power dam construction across Uganda. We work between developers, government bodies, and affected communities to keep land acquisition lawful, fair, and dispute-free.
